Bees
Bees: we say so, and tell you who to call
We treat wasps, hornets and yellowjackets. We do not treat honey bees.
A swarm on a branch, or a colony in a wall, is usually honey bees. They pollinate, and a beekeeper can often move them alive. When you text a photo, we tell you which it is.
What we do
- Look at the photo and say whether it is bees, wasps or something else
- Give you the number of a local beekeeper to call first
- Come out for wasps or hornets if that is what it turns out to be
What we do not do
- Treat or remove honey bee colonies
- Remove a hive from inside a wall
- Treat carpenter bees, which bore into wood and need a different approach
If you have been stung and have trouble breathing, or swelling in the face or throat, call 911.
Bees or wasps?
Not sure what it is? Text a photo.
Send it from across the yard and we will tell you if it is wasps, bees or something else.
