Wasp, hornet and yellowjacket nests

A nest on the house? We can be there today.

We treat nests at dusk, when the whole colony is home. Call before 3 p.m. and a truck comes that day. Text a photo first if you want to know what you are looking at.

Same-day visits

Call before 3 p.m., and a truck comes today.

Monday to Saturday, we are at your door by 8 p.m. the same day. If both trucks are out, we say so on the call and book the first visit the next morning.

Call-out fee: flat, quoted when you call. It covers the drive, a look at the nest and a written price. If you book the treatment at that visit, the fee comes off the job.

What we treat

The nests we are called for

Most calls in San Antonio are one of these. If it is something else, text a photo and we will say.

  • Paper wasps and red wasps

Open, umbrella-shaped nests under eaves, porch ceilings, railings and light fixtures.

    Wasps and hornets
  • Hornets

Large paper nests in trees, shrubs and the corners of sheds and carports.

    Wasps and hornets
  • Yellowjackets

Nests in the ground, or inside a wall, soffit or attic. Often found by the traffic at one small hole.

    Yellowjackets
  • Mud daubers

Tube-shaped mud nests on walls and under decks. They rarely sting, and we tell you when to leave them.

  • Nests inside the house

Wasps getting in through a vent, a gap at the roofline or a chimney cap, with a nest in the void.

  • Bees

Honey bees are a job for a beekeeper. We say so on the phone and give you a number to call.

How a visit goes

From your call to a quiet nest

The first visit looks at the nest and writes the price. Treatment happens at dusk, or at first light in the cooler months.

  1. 01
    By 3 p.m.

Step 1: You call or text a photo

Before 3 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and a truck is booked for today. Send a photo from a distance; do not get close for a better one.

  2. By 8 p.m.

Step 2: A truck comes and looks

We find the nest, check the opening and any other nests nearby, and write the price before we do anything else.

  3. At dusk

Step 3: We treat at dusk

Wasps are all home and slow at dusk. We work with a red light, which wasps do not see well, and a licensed applicator follows the product label.

  4. Next morning

Step 4: The nest comes down

Where we can reach it safely, we take the nest down once it is quiet. The next morning we text to ask how it looks.

Until we arrive

What to do, and what not to do, while you wait

General advice for the hours before a visit. We will tell you what applies to your nest when we call back.

What to do, and what not to do, while you wait
DoDo not
Near the nestDoKeep doors and windows near it closed, and keep people and pets inside.Do notStand under it, watch it, or let children play nearby.
The nest itselfDoLeave it alone. A disturbed nest is defended.Do notKnock it down, spray it from the ground, or block the hole it uses.
Yard workDoSkip mowing and trimming near the nest until we have been.Do notRun a mower, blower or hedge trimmer close to it.
The photoDoTake it from across the yard, or through a window, and text it.Do notGo closer for a sharper picture.
A stingDoMove inside. If anyone has trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or feels faint, call 911.Do notWait and see with a known allergy or a reaction that is spreading.

How it is priced

How each kind of nest is priced

The kind of nest and where it is decide the number. You get the price in writing at the visit, before any treatment.

Nests on the outside

Paper wasps, red wasps, hornets and mud daubers on eaves, fences, trees and fixtures.

  • One nest within reach

From the ground or a short ladder.

  • One nest up high

A roofline, gable or two-story eave.

  • Each added nest

On the same visit, at the same address.

Ground and hidden nests

Yellowjackets below the lawn, or a nest inside a wall, soffit or attic.

  • One ground nest

    One entrance, treated at dusk.

  • A nest inside a wall or attic

Treating the void. The wall is not opened.

Every job includes the dusk treatment, taking the nest down where we can reach it safely, and a text the next morning. Closing an opening in the house, such as a vent or a gap at the roofline, is separate and quoted on its own.

One owner, two trucks

Same-day stays honest because the schedule is small

Arcelia Alarcon takes the calls, writes the prices and drives one of the two trucks. Jaden Pittman drives the other.

  • Calls before 3 p.m. get a same-day visit, Monday to Saturday.

  • When both trucks are booked, you hear it from a person, not a form.

  • One flat call-out fee, stated up front, and a written price before any treatment.

  • Stinging insects only. We do not take on ants, roaches or rodents, and we say who to call.

Questions

Before you call

How much does it cost?

A flat call-out fee covers the drive, a look at the nest and a written price. The job price depends on the kind of nest and where it is, and you read it before we treat. If you book the treatment at the visit, the call-out fee comes off the job.

Can you really come the same day?

Yes, Monday to Saturday, when you call before 3 p.m. We have two trucks. If both are booked, we tell you on the call and book the first visit the next morning.

Why do you treat at dusk?

The whole colony is back at the nest, and wasps are slower and less likely to leave it. In the cooler months we may come at first light instead.

What about my kids and pets?

We tell you which areas to keep them away from, and for how long, before we leave. Licensed applicators follow the product label. Ask for the product name and we will read it to you.

Will wasps come back?

Some wasps that were away from the nest can return to it for a day or two. Wasps can also build a new nest nearby later. We tell you what to watch for.

Do you take down bee hives?

No. Honey bees are not ours to treat. We will tell you who to call.
